Update the app and show the version
Many errors are already fixed in a newer version. So keep Rasum up to date. Here you learn how to do this on the iPhone and on Android and where you see your version.
Which version of Rasum do I have?
Section titled “Which version of Rasum do I have?”The Rasum version is shown at the very bottom of the settings.
- In the chat list, tap your profile picture at the top left.
- Scroll all the way down in “Settings”.
- There it says “Version: …”, for example “Version: 26.09.2” followed by a number in brackets.
The first number is the version. The number in brackets identifies the exact build. Give both when you report a problem to us.
Before you sign in, the version is shown at the bottom of the start screen.
Update Rasum on the iPhone
Section titled “Update Rasum on the iPhone”On the iPhone you currently get Rasum as a test version through Apple’s TestFlight app. That is why updates also come through TestFlight, not through the App Store.
- Open the TestFlight app.
- Tap Rasum.
- If a new version is available, tap the button to update or install.
In TestFlight you can turn on automatic updates for Rasum. Then you do not have to take care of it yourself.
Update Rasum on Android
Section titled “Update Rasum on Android”On Android you update Rasum through Google Play.
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for Rasum or open the list of your apps.
- Tap Update if an update is available.
Google Play can also update Rasum automatically if automatic updates are turned on.
What does “Update ready” mean?
Section titled “What does “Update ready” mean?”Android: “Update ready” means: a new version of Rasum has already been downloaded and only needs to be installed.
This is how an update works in the app:
- When you open Rasum, the app checks whether there is a new version in Google Play (at most every few hours).
- Google Play shows its own note about the download. The download runs in the background, and you can keep using Rasum.
- After that, Rasum shows the “Update ready” window with the text “A new version of the app has been downloaded. Restart now to finish the update.”
- Tap “Restart now”. Rasum restarts and is up to date.
If you tap “Later”, Rasum asks again after one hour at the earliest. If you already decline the Google Play note, Rasum does not ask again for this version for one day.
For important updates, Google Play shows a full-screen page instead. Install this update right away. If you cancel it, the screen appears again later.
If you did not install Rasum from Google Play, the app shows no update note. You then have to check for new versions yourself.
