# Spaces

> What spaces are in Rasum and where to find them in the app.

A space brings several chats and groups together, for example all groups of a club or a company. A space is like a folder for chats.

## Where do I find my spaces?

You find your spaces in the bar at the bottom under **"Spaces"**. Your spaces are listed there as coloured cards, one below the other. Tap a space to open it.

You do not need a space for normal chats and groups.

## Filter the chat list by space

If you are in at least one space, a filter button for spaces appears at the top of the chat list next to the magnifying glass. It makes the chat list show only the chats of a particular space.

**Android:** The filter button shows a funnel [Icon: funnel] and is called **"Your spaces"**.

## Create a space

**Android:** In the **"Spaces"** section there is a round **"Create space"** button.

## Add a group to a space

**Android:** When creating a group, you can assign it to a space with **"Add to space"**. More under [Start a new chat or group](https://doc.rasum.chat/en/chats/neuer-chat/).
