Every chat has an info page. There you set up notifications, see the members and find shared photos and files.

## Open the info for a chat

You open a chat's info from within the chat.

1. Open the chat.
2. Tap the chat's name or profile picture at the top.
3. The **"Room info"** page opens.

You can also get there from the chat list: long-press the chat and tap **"Settings"**.

## What is in a chat's info?

Depending on the chat and your permissions, the **"Room info"** page shows these entries:

- **"Invite"** – invite more people.
- **"Share"** – share the chat with others.
- Call buttons for a voice or video call. More under [Calls](https://doc.rasum.chat/en/anrufe/anrufe/).
- **"Media and files"** – all photos, videos and files in the chat.
- **"Pinned messages"** – messages attached to the top.
- **"Polls"** – all polls in the chat.
- **"Notifications"** – notifications just for this chat.
- **"Favourite"** – mark the chat as a favourite.
- **"Security & privacy"** – settings for the chat's encryption.
- **"People"** – all members.
- **"Report room"** and **"Leave room"** at the very bottom.

In a chat with only one person, there is also **"Profile"**.

## Mute a chat

A muted chat no longer sends you notifications. The messages still arrive.

1. Open the chat's **"Room info"**.
2. Tap **"Notifications"**.
3. Turn on **"Allow custom setting"**.
4. Choose **"Mute"**.

**Android:** It is quicker with the **"Mute"** button at the top of the info page. With **"Unmute"** you turn the sound back on.

A muted chat shows a crossed-out bell [Icon: crossed-out bell] in the chat list.

## Set notifications for a single chat

You can set your own notifications for each chat. They then apply instead of your general settings.

1. Open the chat's **"Room info"**.
2. Tap **"Notifications"**.
3. Turn on **"Allow custom setting"**.
4. Choose a level:
   - **"All messages"** – you are notified about every message.
   - **"Mentions and replies only"** – only when someone mentions you or replies to you.
   - **"Mute"** – no notifications.

With **"Mentions and replies only"**, the notice **"Your account provider does not support this option in encrypted chats, you won't get notified in this chat."** may appear. In that case, choose one of the other levels.

**iPhone:** With **"Remove custom setting"**, your general setting applies to the chat again.

You find the general settings for all chats under [Notification settings](https://doc.rasum.chat/en/einstellungen/benachrichtigungen/).

## Mark a chat as a favourite

You find favourites quickly with the **"Favourites"** filter in the chat list.

1. Long-press the chat in the chat list.
2. Tap **"Favourite"** [Icon: star].

Or open the chat's **"Room info"** and turn on **"Favourite"**. If a chat is already a favourite, it says **"Favourited"** [Icon: filled star].

## See the members of a chat

You see the members of a chat in the info.

1. Open the chat's **"Room info"**.
2. Tap **"People"**.

## View pinned messages

Important messages can be pinned in a chat, that is, attached to the top. They then appear at the top of the chat in a banner. With **"View All"** you see all pinned messages.

You also find the list under **"Room info"** → **"Pinned messages"**.

How to pin a message is explained under [Edit, delete and more](https://doc.rasum.chat/en/nachrichten/bearbeiten-loeschen/).

## View all photos and files in a chat

You find all photos, videos and files in a chat in one place.

1. Open the chat's **"Room info"**.
2. Tap **"Media and files"**.

**Android:** The page has two tabs: **"Media"** and **"Files"**. **"Files"** also includes documents, audio files and voice messages.

More about photos and files under [Photos, videos and files](https://doc.rasum.chat/en/medien/fotos-videos-dateien/).

## Leave a chat

When you leave a chat, you no longer get new messages from this chat.

1. Long-press the chat in the chat list. Or open the chat's **"Room info"**.
2. Tap **"Leave room"** [Icon: arrow leaving a door].
3. Rasum asks **"Are you sure that you want to leave the room?"**.
4. Confirm the question.

**Android:** In a chat with only one person, the entry in the info is called **"Leave conversation"**.

Note the hints in the confirmation:

- **Private chat:** You cannot join again without a new invitation.
- **You are the only person in the chat:** After you leave, no one can join any more, not even you.
- **You are the only owner:** You first have to choose a new owner.

## Report a chat

You report a chat with unwanted content to the operators of Rasum.

1. Long-press the chat in the chat list. Or open the chat's **"Room info"**.
2. Tap **"Report room"** [Icon: speech bubble with exclamation mark].
3. Describe the reason for the report.
4. Send the report.

In encrypted chats, the operators cannot read the messages. So describe the problem as precisely as possible.

**iPhone:** The **"Report room"** entry only appears if the server supports reporting chats.

You report individual messages through the message's menu. More under [Edit, delete and more](https://doc.rasum.chat/en/nachrichten/bearbeiten-loeschen/).

## Block someone

You no longer see messages or invitations from a blocked person.

**iPhone:**

1. Open the chat with the person.
2. Open the **"Room info"**.
3. Tap **"Block user"**.
4. Confirm with **"Block"**.

**Android:** You block a person when reporting a message. Turn on **"Block user"** there. With an invitation, use **"Decline and block"**. More under [Invitations](https://doc.rasum.chat/en/chats/einladungen/).

## Unblock someone

You find blocked people in the settings.

1. In the chat list, tap your profile picture at the top left. The **"Settings"** open.
2. Tap **"Blocked users"**.
3. Tap the person.
4. Tap **"Unblock"**.

The **"Blocked users"** entry only appears if you have blocked at least one person.
